This is a new Aston Martin Vantage, a latest indication in Aston’s resurgence. It’s a muscular two-seat sports automobile with an aluminium substructure, and a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged AMG V8 engine underneath a hood that powers a back wheels.
If that, and a 50:50 weight distribution, sounds like a flattering honeyed doing set-up, we should see how a Vantage smokes a tyres around a Portimao competition circuit. But it’s a roadgoing sports car, too, so we’ve tested it entirely on decent roads as good as on track. Plus we take a demeanour low underneath a skin, in a many in-depth Vantage video online.
Aston wants it to be improved than a Porsche 911? Can it conduct that clearly improbable feat?
